A reading, literacy, author, elementary reading school assembly program that is educational and builds character.

Program Synopsis:

A 40 minute reading/literacy program that opens with Richard turning his hand into a goofy large bull frog. This cute little green amphibian helps explain through reading and a little imagination that we have the ability to learn and grow.

Next, two lucky students from the audience help bring Richard's nationally known children's book, "Red Riding Hood Races The Big Bad Wolf," to life. Everyone learns how easy it is to read a book and transform it into a puppet show while at the same time receiving a valuable vocabulary lesson on respect, compassion and determination.

Mugsworth the dog learns how reading helps you to better understand math, science, social studies and that reading ignites their own inner creativity.

As an added bonus, another student is transformed into an actor to play a part in a mini-television show. The audience members become the studio audience in a fast action thriller that helps demonstrate how all TV shows, movies and plays must be read first before they can be produced.

I really liked your reading program it was very good. I also liked the way you brought up on stage some of our special needs students. Thank you for treating them with respect, patients and dignity. I am sure they will tell their parents how they were part of your reading assembly show.

Timothy Jalkanen, Principal
Elmwood Elementary School, St Clair Shores, Michigan

Mr. Paul, Thank you for an awesome reading assembly that really kicked off our March Reading Month program. It was funny!

We liked it when the frog puppet wanted to kiss Mrs. I. It was funny when the frog was singing! It was funny when you threw that puppet to the boy helping you on stage. It was funny when the dog said he didn’t like to read. Only two people in our class don’t like to read. Twenty three people in our kindergarten class like to read.

Mrs. Ikamas is going to try to find books about ventriloquists! We will also change our writing center to a puppet center and the three children who go there each day will make up a story, based on another story and will present a puppet show during class.

Loved your reading school assembly program,

Mrs. Ikamas, Mrs. Snyder and the Sweethearts
