"My son cannot stop talking
about the program you presented at his elementary school in Troy.
So..I was hoping
book you for a
visit to our school in Royal Oak sometime in May or early June.
I am interested in the Core Democratic Values session for our upper
elementary. I look forward to hearing from you."

A fun educational
social studies program that discusses both constitutional
principles and fundamental beliefs.
This powerful American Constitutional Democracy presentation playfully
promotes a greater understanding of what makes up our government
and the freedoms that define the Red, White and Blue.
In
Core Democratic Values Master Peking Duck playfully
discusses life, liberty, diversity, justice
and the common good. The student and the teachers join in
on a educational/entertaining song about Due Process of Law.
The students
are reminded of how lucky they are to live in a country that allows
them the freedom to speak-out, the
ability to come and go as they please and the opportunity to become
who ever they want to be.
Then a few
students and teachers are chosen from the audience to dress up and
become the three branches of government (Executive, Legislative
and Judicial) hilariously demonstrating how a bill becomes a law.
This short comical sketch also explains the mean of separation
of powers, federalism, and checks and balance.
Next
the students get to meet Thomas Jefferson’s
pet turtle Toby, a 250 years old fun loving character that slowly
shares with the students the inside information on the formation of
the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.
Rodney Rat, a delightful funny cheese eating character, displays his
patriotism throughout the program.
Henrietta
Chicken sings the
national anthem, which leads to the beginning of Bill of Rights
Baseball where twelve students and two teachers each team up to
play a short three inning fun-filled baseball game based on the
Bill of Rights.
In closing,
students are serenaded by Richard and one lucky teacher who is dressed
up like the Statue of Liberty singing America the Beautiful.
Here's what others have to say . . .
Thank you so much for the awesome assemblies yesterday. The students really had a good time and learned a lot. Today, my class was singing, "Due due due due process due due..." all the way back from lunch. Then, the teacher next door came and got me, and I walked into her room...her kids sang it to me....a very good time was had by all!

You are definitely coming
back next year, the kids learned so much and are excited
to learn more!
He did an excellent job with his songs presenting the CDVs.
These are abstract concepts and putting them to song makes it so much
easier to grasp for elementary students!
He has an outstanding voice also. We enjoyed his singing!
The use of puppets immediately had
the students hooked. He involved the students and teachers which
everyone enjoyed. His presentation of how a bill becomes a law was an
excellent teaching tool.
The students enjoyed thoroughly enjoyed his presentation.
We
especially liked the way he got the kids involved in the "Bill"-passing
process.
Core Democratic - Mr. Paul involved the student body in
his presentation. The students have used his examples in the classroom
discussions. Humorous and authentic. Would
have him back again next year to reinforce the Core Democratic Values
which reinforces the MEAP, Michigan Standards and Benchmarks. Students
had a great time learning.
